Vision Statement

The Amherst Baptist Church envisions our body being made complete through appreciating people with differing abilities into the life and mission of the church according to God’s loving plan.

Mission Statement

Amherst Baptist Church will endeavor to inspire, educate to create awareness, equip, and encourage congregations toward a biblical perspective, spiritual outreach, and inclusive relationships with people touched by disability. The ultimate result would be that God is glorified in the eyes of all through this disability ministry.

Mission Statement Applications

The Amherst Baptist Church’s Ministry of People with Disabilities will prepare a welcoming place for all people with disabilities by:

  • Serving their spiritual needs through Bible studies, discipleship, prayer, teacher aide to Sunday school, parent aide, and church services.
  • Providing assistance for the physical needs through transportation, and individual care from their home (i.e. errands, making meals, cleaning etc.).
  • Developing a social connection through friendships, collaborative activities, and mentoring.
  • Nurturing a supportive emotional environment to encourage self-fulfillment and inner peace.
